Tony Hawk’s Metaverse Skatepark

Tony Hawk, the famous skateboarder, is the latest celebrity to announce a Metaverse World. Partnering with the Metaverse land game, The Sandbox. Hawk will be creating a skatepark and NFT avatar collection. The new skatepark features 36 parcels of Metaverse land, making it the largest virtual skatepark ever. The NFTs released by Hawk feature a digital replica of his 1999 X Games outfit, where Hawk landed the first ever 900, considered one of skateboarding’s most challenging moves. Hawk has a proven track record in the digital gaming industry, grossing 1.4 Billion for the “Tony Hawk Pro Skater” series since its debut in 1999, making it one of the most successful video game franchises in history.

Tony Hawk is a professional skateboarder, entrepreneur, and founder of The Skatepark Project. He turned professional as a skateboarder at age 14 and, by 16, reached the pinnacle of the sport, becoming World Number 1. Hawk remained World Champion for 12 years in a row. Today he skates demos and exhibitions worldwide and is a global ambassador for the sport. He sees skateboarding to be an art form, a lifestyle, and a sport and is an inaugural member of the Skateboarding Hall of Fame.
